The 80s is most definitely back so prepare to see lots of faded denim and jumpsuits hit the high street.

As a fashion journalist there is nothing more exciting than getting a sneak preview of the weird, wonderful and often outlandish creations making it onto the catwalk for spring summer. I was lucky enough to cast my eyes on the red-hot summer trends one chilly wintry morning in December and it certainly brightened up my day. Catwalks were an explosion of oranges, yellows, jade greens, hot pinks and royal blues, tie-dye and colourful hippy-style outfits.
Early Madonna tracks such as True Blue blasted out as 80s fashions showed they were back to stay, with acid-washed denim jeans, jump suits and retro handbags with chain handles. Elsewhere influences from around the globe were apparent, with Japanese inspired obi belts, origami pleats and kimono shapes.
Bold African prints were also big news, alongside country and western inspired fringing and studded jackets.
Skinny girls rejoiced as bodycon dresses and high-waisted shorts adorned many a model whilst the more curvaceous amongst us thanked the Lord for the continuing popularity of maxi dresses and the slimming effect of the monochrome trend.
Accessories for the new season were just as exciting with death-defying killer heels, high-impact necklaces and chunky belts.
