Recipes from March 2009

Ask any mum about the best ‘Mothering Sunday’ present she’s ever received, and you’re likely to hear not about gifts that cost a lot of money, but things handmade and given with love – anything from mis-shapen clay pots and carefully coloured pictures to brightly decorated fairy cakes.

And as it is generally mum who does most of the cooking (even dads who enjoy being creative in the kitchen tend to concentrate on special occasions) why not make this year’s Mother’s Day memorable by cooking lunch – and then tidying the kitchen and washing up afterwards!

Tine Roche, head chef at the Cambridge Cookery School, has created this special menu for a meal that is spring fresh and delicious, but simple enough even for children to be able to give a lot of help.
